A New Caledonian gecko, gargoyle geckos are named due to the boney, horn-like portrusions on their heads. Gargoyle geckos are the smallest of Rhacodactylus geckos measuring in at 8-10 inches as adults. These geckos typically display muted grey or offwhite colors when fired down and dark black, browns and greys when fired up. Splashes of orange and red can be found in some individuals. With similar care requirements to crested geckos gargoyls geckos are quickly gaining in popularity.
